The practice of orthodontics is constantly evolving with new and improved materials and techniques. Dr. Borgula and his team are committed to staying abreast of the most current research in orthodontics.

Meet

Dr. Thomas Borgula

Dr. Borgula is family and faith oriented. He has been married to his wife Terry for over 29 years. They share 4 beautiful children together. He has lived most of his life locally in Michigan.  He has served the Macomb area as an Orthodontist for over 25 years. 

Dr. Borgula attended high school at Warren De La Salle Collegiate. He received his Undergraduate Degree in Economics from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. 

He graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Detroit Mercy.  At the University of Detroit Mercy he also completed a residency in Orthodontics.  This earned him a Masters Degree in Oral Biology and a Certificate of Orthodontics.

He is an avid sport enthusiast playing Division 1 College Baseball as a pitcher for the Northwestern Wildcats. Later he was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in 1989.  This was before deciding to pursue a career in Orthodontics.

Meet

Dr. Julia Poirier

Dr. Julia Poirier is a local to the community, she is excited to be back working with Dr. Borgula. Dr. Poirier was formally not only a patient of Dr. Borgula, but also a previous orthodontic assistant in his office. 

Dr. Poirier has been married for over five years to her husband, Evan. They enjoy time with their dog, Red, time on Lake St.Clair, reading, and baking her famous sourdough!

She graduated from Eisenhower High School, where she also attended The Utica Center for Mathematics, Science, and Technology. She then went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Sciences and Master's degree in Biology from Oakland University. 

She then moved to Arizona to earn her Doctor of Dental Medicine as well as a Certificate of Public Health with Dental Emphasis from the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health. She was fortunate enough to also spend time in the same beautiful state for her residency, completing a Masters of Orthodontics and a Certificate in Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics from the same program. 

Dr. Poirier is excited to be back at the office she grew up at. She is looking forward to treating each and every smile that walks through the door as if they were family.
